Priyanka Govindan
Priyanka Govindan’s journey evolved from engineering to education bringing in a rare blend of analytical thinking and soulful pedagogy. Initially trained as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer (2013, Meenakshi University), she began her professional journey as a Technical Engineer at WIKA Instruments Private Limited (Chennai) and later as an AR Analyst at AGS Health.
Although education wasn’t initially part of her plan, a friend’s suggestion to try teaching led to a week spent with children, sparking a personal and professional transformation that changed her path forever. Reflecting on this shift, Priyanka resonates with Rumi’s words: “What you seek is seeking you.” She realised her previous experiences had been guiding her toward this moment.
To formally step into the world of education, she earned her Diploma in Elementary Education (NIOS, 2019). Since then, Priyanka has worked as a Kindergarten Teacher at The Geekay World School and Balsam Academy in Ranipet. Her path soon expanded into leadership and mentoring roles, including Kindergarten Coordinator, Waldorf-inspired Trainer, and currently as a Curriculum Developer with Sankalapam School of Thought.
Her engineering background has equipped Priyanka with the skills necessary for effective curriculum development. Focusing on nature-inspired education, she creates meaningful learning experiences. With certifications in Steiner principles and Waldorf pedagogy, her work emphasises teacher empowerment and community-building. Guided by the steady influence of her mentors, Priyanka continues to explore education as a space for mutual growth.
At the heart of her vision is a deep longing to nurture free-minded children who grow into creative and purposeful adults individuals capable of forming communities grounded in compassion, care, and reverence for nature and each other. Her
philosophy centres on connection, healing, and a conscious return to wholeness through education.
Beyond her professional life, Priyanka is a fiction writer with published works online, avid reader, and lover of storytelling and songs. Her deep engagement with handwork—both artistic and healing—continues to inform her personal and professional journey.
