Roshan Balaram

Roshan Balaram is a Bioengineering graduate from The University of Sheffield, with a deep-rooted passion for movement, wellness, and building systems that help children thrive. As the founder of Verve Sports Academy, he has spent the past six years designing and implementing school-based athletic programs grounded in the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model—programs that focus not just on physical ability, but on nurturing lifelong habits of health, resilience, and joy through movement.

Certified by the International Youth Coaching Association (USA) and continued studies in Mobility 101 by The Ready State (USA), Roshan’s approach blends scientific principles of development with the human-centred spirit of Waldorf-inspired education. His work naturally aligns with SSOT’s values—where learning is rhythmic, child-centric, and rooted in nature. At SSOT, Roshan brings this philosophy into systems design, operations, and strategic growth, ensuring that movement and wellness are not add-ons, but essential threads in the learning experience.

Roshan’s leadership journey began long before his professional one—serving as House Captain, Sports Captain, and School Captain during his student years, where he led with empathy, clarity, and a drive to create meaningful change. Whether organising school-wide events or inspiring his peers, he’s always believed in people-first leadership and ethical action. His natural ability to connect with others, listen deeply, and hold space with compassion is at the heart of everything he does.

Known as someone who leads with values and walks the talk, Roshan brings an unwavering sense of responsibility and humanitarianism to SSOT’s mission. His lens on operations and growth is not just strategic—it’s soulful. He believes systems must serve the people in them, and that education must serve the child as a whole being.

He’s also a firm believer in joy—whether it’s moving through a yoga flow, tending to his vegetable garden, or baking something from scratch in the kitchen (yes, he’s a self-confessed foodie!). Roshan sees wellness as a way of life, not a destination, and brings that grounded, joyful energy into the SSOT community each day.

At SSOT, Roshan’s purpose is to design systems that honour the rhythm of learning and create structures where compassion and clarity guide both children and adults. His presence ensures that what we build is not only efficient—but also meaningful, alive, and full of heart.
